Prince George's Reschedules Home Doubleheader Against College of Southern Maryland For May 6

LARGO, Md. – The Prince George's baseball home doubleheader against the College of Southern Maryland, originally scheduled for March 22, has been rescheduled for Sunday, May 6 at the Prince George's Community College Baseball Field. First pitch is scheduled for 12 p.m.

The twinbill against the Hawks was one of six dates postponed due to weather after a rare winter storm came through the area in March. The two games will end a string of 11-straight road games and will be the final regular-season home series before the National Junior College Athletic Association Region XX Division III Tournament begins.

The Owls are coming off a doubleheader split with Garrett College on Sunday after Prince George's took the nightcap 5-3. Clark Reese (Greenbelt, Md./Eleanor Roosevelt) struck out 10 batters and Austin Adams (Atlanta, Ga./Whitewater) and Josh Pietrandrea (Woodbridge, Va./Woodbridge) each hit a solo homer to help Prince George's Community College defeat Garrett College 5-3 to earn a split on Sunday. Reese allowed three runs on eight hits with 10 strikeouts to pick up his third win of the season. Adams and Pietrandrea both went yard in the fifth inning to give the Owls a 5-1 lead. Adams had three hits, two runs scored on the day along with his first homer of the season. Pietrandrea went 3-for-4 with a solo homer, two runs scored and an RBI in the second game and posted a 4-for-8 afternoon with two RBIs and two runs scored. Bay To (Philadelphia, Pa./Neumann-Goretti) went 1-for-2 with four RBIs and two runs scored in the opener, including a three-run home run for his team-leading fifth round-tripper of the year. The sophomore had nine homers last season and now has 14 in his two-year career.

The Owls return to action on Tuesday and Wednesday with a pair of rescheduled contests. The squad heads to Harford College on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. and to CCBC Essex on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
