opening pitch…
Prince George's returns home for its 50th Anniversary Old Fashion Baseball Game on Saturday in a doubleheader against Chesapeake College. During the first game of the twinbill, starting lineups and the national anthem will be played, but for the rest of the game, no announcements or music will be played except during the fourth-inning stretch when "Take Me Out To The Ball Game" will either be played or sung Chicago Cubs style. In between games, fans will receive an 8 oz helmet with the 50th Anniversary logo and ice cream to enjoy. The second game against the Skipjacks will then resume with announcements and music throughout the game. The doubleheader might be the final home date for the Owls this season if the College of Southern Maryland twinbill is not rescheduled. Prince George's and Chesapeake will meet for the first time since 2016 after two dates were postponed last year due to the weather.

last time out… Bay To and Shawn Alicea each posted a two-run base hit in a four-run eighth and Keaton Bradley pitched well for 8.2 innings to lift Prince George's Community College past Anne Arundel Community College 8-4 on Thursday. After the Owls tied the game at 2 in the fifth, To smacked a two-run double to left field before Alicea followed with a two-run single to left field for a 6-2 lead. Alicea added a single in the ninth. Bradley allowed four runs (three earned) on nine hits in 8.2 innings to earn his third win of the season after striking out 11 batters in the game. The 11 strikeouts were the second-most punchouts in his career. Austin Adams posted a 2-for-4 performance with two RBIs and two runs scored. Brandon Crosby added three hits, a run scored and an RBI while Jake Brewer registered two hits and a run scored, and Chase Perreault had a hit, and two runs scored in the winning effort.

next time on the diamond…  Starting with Sunday's doubleheader at Garrett, Prince George's will play its final seven dates on the road for a total of 11 games. The squad will also visit Harford (Apr. 24), CCBC Essex (Apr. 25), Westmoreland County (Apr. 29), CCBC Catonsville (May 1), Hagerstown (May 3) and Frederick (May 5).

mother nature always wins… The weather has called for the postponement of four road games and two home dates. The Owls have rescheduled five of the six dates with the exception of Southern Maryland.
