Prince George's Baseball Drops Doubleheader To Allegany College of Maryland

LARGO, Md. – Prince George's Community College drops its Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference (MD JUCO) baseball doubleheader on Saturday. The Trojans won the opener 11-0 in five innings and then took the nightcap 12-1 in five innings.

Josh Pietrandrea (Woodbridge, Va./Woodbridge) paced the Owls (5-9, 0-2 MD JUCO) with two hits and an RBI in the second game. Bay To (Philadelphia, Pa./Newmann-Goretti) notched a double in the opener and scored a run in the nightcap while Alexander Montero (LaRomana, Dominican Republic/Colegio Neuva) and Naquan Holden (Brooklyn, N.Y./Perkiomen) each posted a base hit in the second game.

In the nightcap, To reached on an error in the fourth and came around to score from first on Pietrandrea's double to right center.

Allegany scored seven runs in the first and five in the third to earn the 12-1 win.

In the opener, the Trojans scored four runs in the second, two in the fourth and five in the fifth to earn an 11-0 victory.

The Owls got a runner to second base twice in the contest, but could not score. Tommy Petrosino (Bayonne, N.J./St. Anthony's) reached on a wild pitch and stole second before being stranded on second after the final out was recorded on a ground out in the first inning. To doubled to right field in the fourth and thrown out trying to stretch it into a triple.

Clark Reese (Greenbelt, Md./Eleanor Roosevelt) took the loss in the opener and Dominic Marquez (Long Beach, Calif./Jordan) received the loss in the second game.

Prince George's returns to action on Tuesday at home against CCBC Dundalk. Game time is 3:30 p.m.
