Weather Completes Week Sweep Of Prince George's Baseball With Postponement Of Saturday's Doubleheader

LARGO, Md. – The Prince George's baseball doubleheader at Garrett, originally scheduled for Saturday, has been postponed due to field conditions and forecasted cold temperatures for Saturday. The twinbill has been rescheduled for Sunday, April 22 at 12 p.m.

After sweeping a doubleheader against Howard University Club on March 4, the Owls have had a four-team, five-game road trip wiped out because of the weather. Along with Saturday's doubleheader at Garrett, the squad was supposed to travel to CCBC Essex on Tuesday, Harford on Wednesday and CCBC Catonsville on Thursday.

Prince George's (3-1)  won the opener 23-2 and then took the nightcap 33-0 in the doubleheader against the Bison Club team. Dylan Irizarry (Statesboro, Ga./Statesboro) hit a homer and drove in six runs in the opener while O'Neal Torche (Jersey City, N.J./St. Anthony's) had five RBIs in the nightcap. Austin Adams (Atlanta, Ga./Whitewater), Josh Pietrandrea (Woodbridge, Va./Woodbridge) and Vinny Rotundo (New York, N.Y./Middletown) each posted five RBIs, and Tommy Petrosino (Jersey City, N.J./St. Anthony's) added four RBIs in the sweep.

The Owls return to action on Sunday at home against CCAC Boyce. First pitch is 12 p.m.
