Owls Bounce Back vs. RCSJ Cumberland Behind Jackson’s Triple-Double, Tremble’s Big Night From Deep

The Prince George's Community College men's basketball team bounced back on Thursday, February 15th in front of a home crowd in Novak Field House as the Owls took care of the visiting Dukes from Rowan College of South Jersey - Cumberland, 93-67.

Their victory came at an opportune time for the Owls who were playing in their final home regular season game of the year fresh off a late three-point loss on the road against NOVA earlier in the week. With the 26-point win, Prince George's improved to 19-6 on the season and closed out with a perfect 8-0 mark against DIII challengers.

Despite entering halftime with a 40-27 lead and opening up the second half with a 9-0 run, Cumberland managed to crawl back and cut the Owls lead down to just 8, 60-52, with under nine minutes remaining. The Owls responded with a 21-6 run to reclaim complete control of the game, 81-58 with under four minutes to play before they closed out the contest, 93-67.

Eleven different Owls scored during their win behind Jasir Tremble's (Washington, D.C./Theodore Roosevelt) game-leading 34 points which included a 10-of-18 (56%) mark from beyond the arc. Teammate Saveon Jackson (Kentland, MD/KIPP College Prep) had a career day himself with 18 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists to pick up his first collegiate triple-double. Justin Minor (Largo, MD/Largo) was just shy of another double-double with 11 boards and 8 points during the win.

Up next for Prince George's is an away matchup at Cecil College for their final regular season game on Monday, February 19th at 6 PM before returning to Largo for the Region 20 DIII Tournament beginning Saturday, February 24th.
