Prince George's Men's Basketball Closes Out 2024 Against CCBC Dundalk On Wednesday
The Prince George's Community College men's basketball team will host CCBC Dundalk in the Owls final tilt of their fall semester on Wednesday, December 18th for a 7 PM tip. The Owls (6-4, 2-2 Region 20 DII) are coming off a much-needed win against Frederick Community College this past Friday, snapping a three-game skid for Prince George's. The Lions (7-4, 1-2), meanwhile, are looking to bounce back themselves after dropping their last contest over the weekend, a 74-69 loss to Monroe Community College.
Prince George's has been led on offense by sophomore Jailin Landis, the lone returning starter from last year's National Tournament team, who is averaging 21.4 points per game. Newcomers Lynn King III (12.4 ppg) and Casheus Covington (11.2 ppg) round out the trio of offensive leaders for the Owls. On defense, they've tended to lean on a bigger lineup compared to past years, utilizing the size of forwards Manuel Coronado (6'6), Michael Osuji (6'7), and King III (6'8) to help protect the rim while guards Tyler Donald, Jaylen Judge, and Willie Rivera Jr. slide to guard opponents outside shooters.
Since Terrell Harris took over the role of head coach prior to the 2022 season, his Owls hold a .838 winning percentage (31-6 record) in Novak Field House, losing just two games each year in their home gym. This year's Owls currently hold a 4-2 mark in Novak on the season, and will once again look to defend their home court against the Lions on Wednesday to head into the winter break with some momentum.
Following the break, the Owls return to Novak Field House for their first action of the New Year with a matchup against College of Southern Maryland on Wednesday, January 8th.
