Evans Named Division III Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

Women's Basketball guard Kalise Evans was named the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Women's Basketball Player of the Week, it was announced on Wednesday, December 6th.

Evans, a freshman guard from Springdale, MD, recorded her first career double-double with 21 points and 15 rebounds during a 70-53 victory over DI Allegany College of Maryland on November 21st to earn honors. She's already proven to be a vital piece for this year's Lady Owls team who early on looks primed to reload, rather than rebuild, after losing 7 sophomores following a second consecutive trip to the National Tournament in Rochester, MN.

The Prince George's Community College women's basketball program ranks 11th in the nation and currently stands at 3-1 on the season which includes two wins against DI opponents. The full listing of NJCAA Player of the Week Awards can be found here.
