NJCAA Women's National Championships: Lady Owls reach Final Eight

Largo, Md. - With the Lady Owls 66-58 win over West Georgia Technical College in the District final at Novak Field House, the team became the first in the programs history that will represent the college at the NJCAA National Championships since they joined Division III.

Over the school's history, the Owls have represented Region XX at the Nationals three times including 1975, 1989 and 2006. However, this was all accoplished as a Division II program.

Coach Harris and her group are proud of their accomplishments, but believes they have a lot more work to do in order to be crowned as National Champions.

According to Harris, "Being one of eight teams left playing in March at the NJCAA level is Always something that a coach should be proud of, but walking away as the top team in NJCAA Women's Division III Basketball and earning the National Championship trophy would be immense for this group of girls and the program."

The team is set to travel on Wednesday, March 11, to the host school Northampton Community College for a practice session and will play their first game of the tournament on Thursday against Roxbury. Tip-off is set for 1:00 PM. Below is the tournament seeding.
