Lady Owls on Top after the First Week of Play
The Lady Owls Basketball team have established a 2-1 record after the first week of the 2014-2015 season. On their previous road trip to Martinsville, VA, the Lady Owls split a pair of games with a 59-56 victory over Patrick Henry Community College, but dropped the second contest to Catawba Community College by a score of 62-82.
Sophomore Jada Jenkins and freshman Kay Carter have been exceptional offensively through the first 3 games for the Lady Owls, averaging 18.5ppg and 21.5ppg respectively.
In the third game of the season, the Lady Owls came out victorious over Northern Virginia Community College winning by a score of 71-61. The top scorers for the Owls in this contest was Jada Jenkins whom led the way with 22 points, Kay Carter had 15 points and Sabriena Shubert added 11 points.
The Lady Owls will travel to Baltimore City Community College on Wednesday, November 12, for their first MDJUCO Conference game. Tip-off is set for 5:30 PM.
