Lady Owls Capture Region XX Title

Largo, Md. – Prince George's Community College Lady Owls won the Region XX title on Sunday, February 21. The Lady Owls traveled and played Westmorland County Community College in the Region XX finals in a tough game that saw both teams having a lead at different points of the game in the first half. However, the Lady Owls took the lead midway in the second half and made timely baskets down the stretch to give Coach Harris her first Region XX Title by a final score of 57-44. Owls Jaida Jenkins was named MVP of the tournament, and Domonique Matthews and Markaila Carter were named to the All-Tournament team.

Prince George's will host the NJCAA Division III District Basketball Championship on Saturday, February 28, 2015. They will face West Georgia Technical College and tip-off is set for 2:00 PM. The winner will advance to the NJCAA Division III National Basketball Championships to be hosted by Northampton Community College, Bethlehem, PA.
