Lady Owls Earn Top Seed in Region Tournament

Largo, Md. - The Lady Owls have earned the top seed in the 2015 NJCAA Region XX Division III Women's Basketball Tournament to be hosted by Westmoreland County Community College. The Tournament tips off this Saturday, and will showcase two of the best teams in the Region.

Although the Lady Owls have earned the top seed, they have shown some inconsistency during the regular season. However, they enter the Region playoffs bolstering another winning record under Coach Harris. According to Harris, "the players have gotten better as the season progressed and competing for a Region Title is always a great accomplishment".

Jaida Jenkins and Markaila Carter have been consistent all year on the offensive end and are a huge part of the Lady Owls success. Jenkins finished the regular season averaging 19 points and 15 rebounds while Carter has chipped in with 16 points, 4 assist, and 4 rebounds per game.

The Owls will travel to play host school Westmorland County Community College for a shot at the Region title on Saturday, February 21. Tip-off is set for 2:00 PM.
