Prince George's Men's Soccer Stays At No. 8 In Latest NJCAA Men's Soccer Division III Rankings

LARGO, Md. – The Prince George's men's soccer team maintains its No. 8 ranking in the latest National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Men's Soccer Division III Rankings, announced on Tuesday.

The Owls have been a member of the NJCAA Division III rankings for the first three weeks of the regular season and the preseason poll. After sitting sixth in the preseason and first week of the regular season, Prince George's has posted a No. 8 ranking in the last two polls. The Owls defeated Chesapeake 16-0 on Sept. 12 and Cecil 9-0 on Friday for the two matches that count toward the rankings.

The Top-3 teams stay the same with No. 1 Richland remaining as the top-ranked team for the third-straight week with 10 points while Herkimer (9 points) and Bunker Hill (8 points) sit at 2-3 in the poll. Camden County (7 points) moved up to No. 4 and Genesee (6 points) jumped two spots to No. 5 while Montgomery (5 points), Triton (4 points), Prince George's (3 points), Suffolk County (2 points) and Union County (1 point) rounded out the 10-team poll.

The Owls have a busy week ahead with three home matches in five days. The squad battles Hagerstown on Tuesday. Match time is 6 p.m. Anne Arundel (Friday) and Brookdale (Saturday) will also come to town in the next five days.
