Schwarzmann Named Division 3 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week
Women's Basketball guard Vanessa Schwarzmann was named the National Junior College Athletic Association Division 3 Women's Basketball Player of the Week, it was announced on Wednesday, November 16th.
Schwarzmann, a second-year starter for the Lady Owls, scored a career high 42 points against Camden County College on November 10th which matched the Cougars total team output in a Prince George's 66-42 victory to move the team to 2-0 on the season. Schwarzmann nearly picked up a double-double in the win with 9 steals and was nearing a triple-double with 7 rebounds. Schwarzmann was unstoppable as she scored in each period, finishing with 10, 8, 11, and 13 points, respectively.
Schwarzmann was particularly dangerous from her usual three-point range which seemed to be just about limitless against Camden County, finishing an incredibly efficient 9 for 15 (60%) from deep where she picked up 27 of her 42 on the evening. Schwarzmann was a key piece to the Owls historic 2021-22 season and appears to be a two-way player the team can count on again this year as Prince George's has its eyes set on another run to the National Championship.
