Prince George’s To Host Harrisburg In First Round of East B District Tournament

The Prince George's Community College men's soccer program will welcome back Harrisburg Area Community College to campus on Saturday, October 21st for a first round matchup of the Division III East B District Tournament. With the Owls the only DIII program competing this season within Region 20, Prince George's joins the Region 19 postseason pool.

Region 19, based out of Eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey, enters ten programs into their postseason which is broken down into two different District Championships (East A and East B). The higher seed of each matchup will host their respective round. Each District Champion will earn an automatic bid to the DIII National Championship held in Gastonia, North Carolina.

The seeding for the East B side is as follows:

  1. Rowan College of South Jersey – Gloucester (12-3-1)
  2. Ocean County College (9-1-4)
  3. Prince George's Community College (6-6-1)
  4. Montgomery County Community College (11-1-2)
  5. Northampton Community College (6-6-1)
  6. Harrisburg Area Community College (3-7-3)

The tournament's first round will take place October 21st with the semi-finals occurring Tuesday, October 24th. The District Championship will be held on Saturday, October 28th.

The Owls previously played Harrisburg Area just a few weeks ago on Monday, October 2nd when Prince George's had arguably one of their most dominating performances of the season in an 8-1 victory. Despite a loss Thursday against CCBC Essex, the Owls had a strong outing against the nationally ranked Knights program, and has coach Mansaray confident in his team's ability to bounce back as he looks to pick up a postseason win for the second year in a row.
