Owls Land Four on All-Region Team
The Prince George's Community College men's soccer team had four student-athletes named to an All-Region 20 Team, it was announced this week. The four selections were tied for the second most in the Region. The Owls, who secured the #2 seed in the Region Tournament, finished the year 9-2-4 in just their first year back amongst the DII ranks.
Leading the Largo program as First Team selections were freshman midfielder Zico Tesheira and sophomore defender Muhammad Sallah. Tesheira led the team with 37 points off 17 goals and 3 assists. Sallah returned for his second year in an Owls uniform as a captain who helped anchor the Prince George's defense that allowed just 1.12 goals a game and recorded 6 shutouts by the seasons end.
Freshman goalkeeper Jairo Caceres was a Second Team selection who started all 15 games in goal for the Owls stout back end. Caceres recorded 66 saves on the season and had four solo shutouts. Rounding out the honors for Prince George's was sophomore midfielder Charles "Dexter" Nguekam who was named an Honorable Mention selection. Nguekam also wrapped up his second year in Largo playing in all 15 games for the Owls, starting all but one of those.
