The Prince George's Community College Owls returned to the pitch on Tuesday, September 24th, hosting their second Division I opponent in as many games as they took on Harford Community College in a battle between the two Owl programs.
Another rainy contest featured several scoring opportunities for both sides in each half, but stellar play from the team's keepers kept the scoreboard at zero for the 90-minute bout. Prince George's got a boost in the final five minutes of action after a Harford defender received a red card, giving the Owls a man-up opportunity with time winding down. The Owls managed one shot in the closing minutes, but it was sent high above the crossbar. Harford managed one last push despite playing down, putting a shot on frame in the closing seconds which the Owls keeper Jairo Caceres snatched up.
Caceres finished with 7 saves on the night, two more than Harford's goalie recorded. Both squads had identical numbers in both shots (15) and corner kicks (15) in the balanced match.
Tuesday's draw marks the Owls third tie in their last four games after starting off the year 4-1. Prince George's has a longer break than normal between their next game, a 5 PM home contest against WVU Potomac State on Tuesday, October 1st.
