Owls Shutout Hagerstown 4-0 On The Road

The Prince George's Community College men's soccer team rolled to another shutout victory on Tuesday, October 15th, defeating Hagerstown Community College 4-0 on the road. Tuesday's victory marked the Owls third straight shutout win and their fourth overall on the year. The Owls now move to 7-2-3 on the season ahead of their final regular season game on Thursday.

Freshman Jerson Chirino opened the scoring in the 7th minute before the Owls leading goal scorer, Zico Tesheira, added two more goals in the first half to send the Owls into halftime up 3-0. Chirino kept up the momentum for Prince George's with another quick goal after the break, netting his fifth goal of the year in the 56th minute. The Owls held strong defensively the remainder of the game to keep Hagerstown off the scoreboard despite four shots and three corner kicks by the Hawks. Ngonya Tajong again finished the game in goal after coming in to relieve starter Jair Caceres with 14 minutes remaining.

Prince George's returns home for their next game against Cecil College on Thursday, October 17th to close out the regular season before postseason play begins the following week. The Owls currently rank second at 6-1-2 in divisional play and will host a first-round game on Thursday, October 24th at 5 PM. Their opponent will be determined on final seeding as the last regular season games decides which programs qualify. Current Region 20 Division II standings can be viewed here.
