 Prince George's returns to the hardwood after having 10 days off with a contest against Cecil at Novak Field House on Wednesday. Winners of three of its last four tilts, the Owls will play the next four games in Largo and five of the next six. Prince George's defeated the Seahawks last season in North East.

at butler county…  Gus Stone registered 24 points to power Prince George's Community College to a 94-87 victory against Butler County Community College on Nov. 17. Stone went 9-for-12 from the floor, 2 of 4 from behind the arc and 4 of 5 from the free throw line to register 20 points in a game for the fifth time this season and the 12th time in his career. The sophomore also added five rebounds and four assists on the night. Mykal Johnson added 17 points, five rebounds and three assists for the Owls while Kennith Ford registered his first career double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Tavon Ngangum notched his second straight double-digit performance with 10 points while James Hagins tallied nine points and seven rebounds. Byron Scriber was key on the defensive end with four defensive caroms and four blocks in the winning effort.

at westmoreland county…  Gus Stone and Mykal Johnson combined for 39 points, 19 rebounds and 15 assists to propel Prince George's Community College past Westmoreland County Community College 82-69 on Nov. 18. Stone posted 21 points, nine rebounds and eight assists to narrowly miss his first double-double or triple-double. The sophomore shot 8-for-10 from the floor, 4-for-5 from behind the arc and 1 of 1 from the free throw line. He has scored double figures in each game this season, including tallying a 20-point performance in six of the eight games this season and a total of 13 for his career. The nine rebounds and eight assists were career highs in those categories. Johnson registered 18 points and 10 rebounds to record his first career double-double while also notching seven assists and four steals on the afternoon. Johnson shot 7-for-9 from the floor and 4 of 4 from 3-point land. The sophomore, who has posted double figures in points in 34 of 38 career games, has scored at least 10 points in every game this season including four games with 18 points or more. Johnson recorded career highs in both rebounds and assists on the afternoon and became the second player on the team to record double figures in rebounds and a double-double. Kennith Ford also reached double figures for the Owls with 13 points while James Hagins hauled in eight rebounds and Tavon Ngangum dished out six assists in the winning effort.

next time on the hardwood… Prince George's continues its four-game homestand with Potomac State on Saturday and Davidson County on Sunday while CCBC Catonsville (Dec. 6) will also come to town during this stretch. After traveling to Chesapeake on Dec. 14, the Owls will host CCAC Allegheny on Dec. 16. The Largo program will only have four of its final 12 games at Novak Field House. 

now that's a career day… Sophomore Kennith Ford hauled in a career-high 10 rebounds to notch his first career double-double against Butler County on Nov. 17. Freshman Shiloh Beale notched a career-high 12 points against Patrick Henry on Nov. 4. Sophomore James Hagins hauled in a career-high 12 rebounds against Pennsylvania Highlands on Nov. 8. Sophomores Paul Golder (14 points) and Tavon Ngangum (12 points) each had a Prince George's highs against Allegany College of Maryland on Nov. 15.

the point is double figures… Sophomore Mykal Johnson has posted double figures in 34 of his 38 career games including all eight games this season. Sophomore Gus Stone has posted 24 10+ games in his career including all eight tilts this season. Sophomore Kennith Ford has 19 career double-figure point games including five this season while sophomore James Hagins has five 10-point games in his career including three this season. Freshman Shiloh Beale has one double-figure point performance this season. Sophomore Tavon Ngangum has two 10+ games in an Owl uniform and fellow sophomore Paul Golder has one.

20-20 vision…
 Sophomore Mykal Johnson has scored 20 points in a game 13 times and 30 points twice in his career. Sophomore Gus Stone has 13 20-point performances and has scored 20 points in six games this season.

on the boards…
 Sophomore James Hagins has grabbed double figures in rebounds five times in his career including three this season. Sophomores Kennith Ford and Mykal Johnson have each hauled in 10 caroms in a game once this season for the first time in their career.

double trouble… Sophomore James Hagins has posted two double-doubles. The sophomore registered a double-double against Westmoreland last season and tallied 14 points and 10 boards against Thaddeus Stevens on Nov. 2. Sophomore Kennith Ford recorded 18 points and 10 rebounds against Butler County on Nov. 17 and fellow sophomore Mykal Johnson tallied 18 points and 10 rebounds against Westmoreland County on Nov. 18 to notch the duo's first double-double of their careers. 

the word on the seahawks… Cecil comes into the contest 2-5 overall and 1-1 in Maryland JUCO play after falling to Montgomery on Nov. 21.

nice to see you again…
 Sophomore Gus Stone has returned to the Owls for the 2017-18 season after playing in 2016-17. Stone ranked second on the team in his freshman campaign with 14.8 points per game and posted 20 double-figure performances including 11 games with 20 points or more.

welcome to the perch… Along with welcoming back Gus Stone, head coach Brian Johnson has added sophomores Paul GolderTavon Ngangum and Brian Ferguson, and freshmen Shiloh BealeDarren RiversBryon Scriber and AJ Perdomo to the team in 2017-18.

that's gold, jerry, gold…
 Prince George's is celebrating its 50th Anniversary of Prince George's Athletics in 2017-18. Prince George's unveiled gold uniforms for men's soccer against Cecil on Sept. 15 as part of the 50th Anniversary of Prince George's Athletics, A Celebration of the Past, Present, And Future. The men's and women's basketball teams will unveil their gold jerseys for the doubleheader against CCBC Catonsville on Dec. 6 and then will be wearing them for select games the rest of the season.

alumni appreciation night…
 The athletics department will be holding Alumni Appreciation Night that will also include Prince George's faculty and staff on Dec. 6 against CCBC Catonsville at 5/7 p.m. Alumni, faculty or staff that wish to participate in the event must pre-register at www.pgccowls.com/alumninight in order to receive up to four free tickets, a free gift and discounted meals. Deadline is Dec. 1. Prince George's will also be holding a Kid's Night Out on Jan. 17.

hall of fame…
 Prince George's will be holding its inaugural Hall of Fame as part of the 50th Anniversary celebration. Nominations are currently being accepted until Dec. 15 by going to www.pgccowls.com/halloffame.

hosting maryland juco tournament…
 Prince George's will be hosting the Maryland JUCO Tournament for both men's and women's basketball on Feb. 23-25. 

men's basketball tradition…
 The men's basketball team has won the Maryland JUCO Tournament four times (1971-72, 1979-80, 1980-81, 2016-17) and the NJCAA Region XX crown seven times (1990-91, 1992-93, 2007-08, 2011-12, 2013-14, 2014-15, 2015-16).

about the coach… Head coach Brian Johnson begins his second season as the men's basketball head coach. He led the Owls to a 21-9 record last season, to the Maryland JUCO Tournament title and to the NJCAA Region XX Division III title game. The 21 wins marked the first 20 win season since 2013-14. Johnson was inducted into his high school (Mount St. Joseph) hall of fame in the fall of 2017.
