Prince George's Men's Basketball Falls To Patrick Henry In A Big Second Half Offensive Battle

MARTINSVILLE, Va. – Despite Gus Stone (Baltimore, Md./North County) and Mykal Johnson (Landover, Md./Charles H. Flowers) combining for 51 points, Prince George's Community College drops a 100-92 decision to Patrick Henry Community College in the first day of the Patrick Henry Men's Basketball Tournament on Saturday.

Stone has posted 20 points in each of his first three games this season. He finished 9-for-13 from the floor, 2 of 5 from behind the arc and 6 of 8 from the charity stripe to finish his night with 26 points. The sophomore also added four rebounds and four assists in the contest. Stone recorded his ninth 20-point game and his 19th double-digit point game of his career.

Johnson did most of his damage from behind the 3-point line, finishing his night 8-for-15 from the floor, 5 of 10 from 3-point land and 4 of 4 from the free throw line. Johnson, who has scored double figures in all three games on the year, notched his first 20-point game of the 2017-18 season and the 13th time in his career. The sophomore has registered double figures in points in 29 of his 33 games for the Largo program.

Kennith Ford (Forestville, Md./National Collegiate Prep) added 19 points for the Owls (2-1) while Shiloh Beale (Waldorf, Md./St. Charles) reached double figures for the first time in his career, posting a career-high 14 points. Beale stuffed the stat sheet adding four assists, three steals and two rebounds.

Prince George's took a 34-32 lead going into the locker room but were outscored in the second half 68-58 to lose for the first time this season, 100-92.

The Owls wrap up the Patrick Henry Tournament with a tilt against Pitt Community College on Sunday. Game time is 1 p.m.
