Withers Placed On Maryland JUCO All-Academic Team

Joey Withers, the Prince George's Community College 2021-22 male outstanding Owl picked up another accolade this past week as he was named to the Maryland JUCO All-Academic Team. Student-athletes must hold a 3.5 GPA or above over the full academic year and have participated in a varsity sport to be eligible for the award.

Withers, who made the move from the outfield to pitcher originally due to injury, finished the season as the Owls top performer on the mound. Ending the year with six wins and a save, which included two complete games, Withers pitched a total of 50.2 innings for Prince George's to lead the team. Following the season Joey was selected as one of only two pitchers named to the NJCAA Region 20 Division III All-Region First Team.

Joey has since announced his commitment to continue his academic and athletic career at Iowa Wesleyan University, a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) program located in Mount Pleasant, Iowa.
