Four Prince George's Men's Soccer Players Garner NJCAA Region XX Division III Honors

LARGO, MD. – Ben Montague (Washington, D.C./Woodrow Wilson), Abboubacarr Sinera (Lanham, Md./Parkdale) and Moh Sherif (Capital Heights, Md./Central), members of the Prince George's Community College men's soccer team, have been named to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XX Division III All-Region first team. David Olabisi (District Heights, Md./DuVal) has been selected to the All-Region honorable mention.

Montague, a freshman forward, paced the team with 10 goals and three assists for 23 points on 36 shots in 14 games including 13 starts. The freshman scored in eight of the 14 games he played and scored a pair of goals against the College of Southern Maryland, Chesapeake College and Northern Virginia Community College. He also had two assists against Chesapeake for a career-high six points in the contest.

Sinera, a freshman goalkeeper, posted a 1.18 goals against average, a .750 save percentage and 39 saves in 13 games including 11 starts. He contributed to six of the team's eight shutouts and posted three individual shutouts on the year. Sinera notched a career-high nine saves against Howard Community College in the region semifinals.

Sherif, a sophomore captain, had a big day after also being named to the All-Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference first team earlier in the day. He ranked second on the team with five goals and four assists for 14 points while starting all 17 games on the year. The sophomore registered a point in seven-straight games and in eight of nine games during the season. He scored a goal against Harford Community College, College of Southern Maryland, Cumberland County College, Anne Arundel Community College and CCBC Essex. Sherif dished out an assist against CCBC Catonsville and three helpers against Chesapeake College.

For his career, Sherif registered eight goals and five assists for 21 points on 63 shots in 33 games including 32 starts. Earlier this year in an interview, he stated that he intends to attend the University of Maryland next year and attempt to walk-on to the men's soccer program now that his two seasons in Largo are complete.

Olabisi, a sophomore defender, helped anchor the Owls defense that recorded a 1.17 goal-against average on the year. The sophomore added three tallies for six points on 18 shots while starting all 17 matches on the year. He scored a pair of goals against Cumberland County and also found the twine against Frederick Community College.

For his career, Olabisi has five goals and one assist for 11 points on 32 shots in 35 games played including 23 starts.

Prince George's finished the first season under head coach Tony Galeano 9-7-1 overall and 6-5-0 in MD JUCO play. The Owls season ended in the NJCAA Region XX Division III semifinals with a 2-1 overtime loss against Howard Community College.
