Teamwork Powers Prince George's To A Pair of Nice Goals Against CCBC Catonsville In 2-0 Victory

LARGO, MD. – Francisco Canton (Hyattsville, Md./Northwestern) and Ben Montague (Washington, D.C./Woodrow Wilson) each scored second-half goals to lift Prince George's Community College past CCBC Catonsville 2-0 in Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference (MD JUCO) men's soccer action on Friday.

Moh Sherif (Capital Heights, Md./Central) stole the ball at midfield and streaked down the left side and hit the ball toward the right-side netting where Canton finished with his second goal of the season at the 54:45 mark to give the Owls a 1-0 lead. The freshman has two goals and an assist on the year. Sherif has notched a point in his last four matches after scoring a goal in the previous three matches.

Roban Boima (Hyattsville, Md./DuVal) served the ball from the right side toward the middle, where Jalen Washington (Washington, D.C./DeMatha) tapped the ball to Montague, who found the netting for his fourth score of the year at the 75:42 mark of the game for a 2-0 edge. Boima and Washington now have a tally and two assists for four points on the year. 

Aboubacarr Sinera (Lanham, Md./Parkdale) made three saves, including stop in between his legs in the 65th minute. It was the freshman's second shutout while the team has recorded five clean sheets on the year.

Winners of three-consecutive matches, Prince George's returns to action on Tuesday at home against Chesapeake College. Match time is 6 p.m.
