Mother Nature Joins Battle Against Genesee Community College In Loss

BOYDS, Md. – Facing the defending National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division III national champions is a daunting task. Adding in a rain that made for sloppy field conditions and forced the referees to call the game at the 70-minute mark made the match even harder, but the Prince George's Community College men's soccer team put up a valiant effort against Genesee Community College and the driving rain throughout the match.

Aboubacarr Sinera (Hyattsville, Md./Parkdale) made two saves in the first 45 minutes and Yoaimo Khan Torres (Hyattsville, Md./Parkdale) turned away one shot in the final 25 minutes before the game was called with the Cougars taking a 4-0 decision.

Moh Sherif (Capital Heights, Md./Central) paced the offense with two shots and the sophomore might have had the best scoring chance for the Owls (1-1) with a wide shot in the 33rd minute of the match.

Prince George's returns to action with another match against a ranked opponent when the squad travels to Howard Community College on Tuesday. Match time is 4 p.m.
