Montague And Sherif Put The Mix-ins On Cold Stone Creamery Night In Prince George's Men's Soccer's 3-0 Win

LARGO, Md. – Friday night was "Friday Night Lights Welcome Back Kickoff" with Cold Stone Creamery Ice Cream. Ben Montague (Washington, D.C./Woodrow Wilson) helped Prince George's Community College put the sprinkles and Oreo cookie in the first half on the butter cream ice cream and then Moh Sherif (Capital Heights, Md./Central) added the cherry on top with a goal in the second half to power the Owls past the College of Southern Maryland 3-0 in Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference (MD JUCO) men's soccer action.

Montague, who notched his first collegiate goal in the match at Harford on Tuesday, posted nearly identical scores in the first half. The freshman got the scoring started early when he knocked in his own rebound off a goalkeeper save two minutes and 19 seconds into the match. Montague then dribbled the ball off the goalkeeper and drilled his second tally of the evening at 21:29 for a 2-0 lead for Prince George's (3-3-0, 2-2-0 MD JUCO) for his first collegiate multi-goal performance.

Sherif, who also scored in the contest against the Fighting Owls on Tuesday, posted his second marker of the year when he knocked in Chris Garcia's (Fort Washington, Md./Friendly) rebound in the final frame at 56:43 to seal the 3-0 victory. Sherif now has five career goals and one assist for 11 points.

Aboubacarr Sinera Lanham, Md./Parkdale) did not face a shot on goal in the match and notched his first career solo shutout after playing all 90 minutes for the second time in his career. Sinera has two combined shutouts while the Owls have posted three team shutouts on the year.

The Largo team outshot the Hawks 26-3.

Prince George's has a quick turnaround with a road game at Cumberland County College on Saturday at 1 p.m.
