Prince George's Track And Field Set To Participate In The NJCAA Division III Outdoor Championship This Weekend

LARGO, Md. – The Prince George's Community College track and field team heads to the National Junior College Athletic Conference (NJCAA) Division III Track And Field Outdoor Championships at Mohawk Valley Community College on Friday in Utica, N.Y.

Destiny Barber (Suitland, Md./Potomac) will be the first Owls' athlete to run at the championships in the 400-meter dash trials at 4:10 p.m. on Friday. Barber will be in lane four in the second heat after posting the eighth-fastest entry time of 1:04.13. Barber will also compete in the 200-meter trials at 6:30 p.m. in heat two and lane three.

Milan Wall (Huntsville, Ala./Sparkman), Kobe Cole (Plano, Texas/Plano) and DeVont'e McCree (Accokeek, Md./Gywnn Park) will hit the track in the 400-meter dash at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Cole and McCree will race in the first heat with Cole running in lane 1 and an entry time of 53.73 and McCree in the starting blocks in lane seven with an entry time of 53.43.

Wall comes into the 400-meter dash with the top entry time of 48.88, almost two seconds faster than the next fastest runner. The freshman will be in heat two and lane seven at the start.

Eddy Brown (Upper Marlboro, Md./Homeschooled) will race in the 800-meter trials at 5:45 p.m. on Friday, starting in lane six of the first heat.

Brown, McCree, Wall and JC Campfield (Washington, D.C./Eleanor Roosevelt) will team up to compete in the 4x400-meter relay to close out Friday at 7:30 p.m. The quartet will be in heat one and lane five after posting the third-best entry time of 3:28.06.

Anyone that qualifies for the finals will race on Saturday. Barber could run in the 200-meter dash semifinals (if needed) at 11:15 a.m. or in the finals at 2:55 p.m. The 400-meter dash for the women starts at 1:15 p.m. with the men's 400-meter dash race to follow immediately. The 800-meter dash finals starts at 2:25 p.m. and the 4x400-meter relay starts at 4:05 p.m.
