Prince George's Track And Field Competes At Virginia State University Trojan Invitational

ETTRICK, Va. – Milan Wall (Huntsville, Ala./Sparkman) placed third in the 800-meter run to pace the Prince George's Community College track and field team at the Virginia State University Trojan Invitational on Saturday.

Wall, who was named the United States Track And Field And Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division III Men's Athlete of the Week twice this season for his efforts in the 400-meter dash, ran the 800-meter run on Saturday and still posted a Top-3 standing with a third-place finish and a time of 1:58.46.

Wall also ran the anchor leg of the 4x400-meter dash that placed fourth (3:33.32). Eddy Brown (Upper Marlboro, Md./Homeschooled), JC Campfield (Washington, D.C./Eleanor Roosevelt) and DeVont'e McCree (Accokeek, Md./Gwynn Park) ran the first three legs of the race. 

Campfield (18th place, 24.61) and Jose Vasquez (Riverdale, Md./Parkdale) (19th place, 26.37) participated in the 200-meter dash while Vasquez (20th place, 58.29) and Kobe Cole (Plano, Texas/Plano) (18th place, 53.74) ran in the 400-meter dash.

On the women's side, Destiny Barber (Suitland, Md./Potomac) participated in the shot put and discus and finished 13th in both events. In the shot put, she posted her best throw with her first toss of 8.84m while she also had hurls of 8.65m and 8.66m. After notching a foul in her first attempt in the discus, she notched her best throw of the day at 21.88m before a hurl of 20.15m in her final toss. 

Prince George's is scheduled to head to the prestigious Penn Relays at Franklin Field on Friday and Saturday.
