Owls beat Cecil 4-0

Owls beat Cecil 4-0

It took 13 minutes for Mecardo Knight to get on the score sheet and give the Owls men the 1-0 lead against Cecil College in Wednesday's game. This goal provided the spark the team needed after they had missed their previous chances. However, Cecil defended strategically and continued to frustrate the Owls offence by clogging the middle of the field and only allowing space down the flanks. With this, Jose Pacheco was able to exploit that space and scored the second goal of the match to give the Owls a 2-0 lead to end the half.

Glodo Melendez extended the lead midway into the second half to put the game out of reach for Cecil College. This goal created a much open affair for both teams with Cecil determined to pull one back. However, after quick successive passes by the owls, Elihu Dorbi found himself one on one with Cecil's goalkeeper and was able to use his crafty footwork to score the final goal of the day. Richard Lewis III earned the win and recorded the Owls second shutout in the last four games.

The Owls next game will be against conference rivals Montgomery College on Tuesday, October 7.
