Four Players Named to All-Region Team

Four sophomores from Prince George’s men’s soccer team earned ALL-Region XX honors, including Linus Seino who made the first team. The Owls were also represented by Romario Chapman, George Afakpe, and Joseph Adeoye who made up the second team.

Linus Seino anchored the defensive unit and was vital to the team’s 7 shutouts during the regular season. He is a technical and physical defender who started 16 games for the Owls thus far. Linus is also a two year player whom started and played almost every minute for the Owls over the last two seasons. This is his second All-Region honors.

Chapman is a skillful player who roamed the midfield for the Owls this season. He finished the regular season with 3 goals and 2 assist after missing some games due to injury. He is a second year starter for the team and leads the attack with his consistent play.

George Afakpe is a midfielder who plays on both sides of the ball and ranks second on the team with 3 goals and 3 assist. He had his best offensive game of the season against Chesapeake College by scoring 2 goals in the 3-2 victory. He is also credited with man of the match honors by the coaching staff, as he was able to score 1 goal and dish out 2 assist in the 4-1 victory over NOVA.

Joseph Adeoye is a standout player whom leads by example. He has been the Owls best utility player this season because of his ability to play multiple positions. He only started 11 games for the Owls due to injury and scored his lone goal of the season in a 4-1 win over Allegany College of Maryland.

The Owls will host Allegany College of Maryland in the #3 vs #6 matchup on Thursday, October 30. Kickoff is set for 2:30 PM.
