Prince George’s Men’s Basketball Student Athletes Cooke, Tremble And Crawford Earn Division III All-Region Recognition

Three Prince George's men's basketball players were recognized this week as members of the 2023 Division III All-Region Team. Sophomore Deonte Cooke (Seat Pleasant, MD) and freshman Jasir Tremble (Washington DC) were named First Team members while sophomore Elijah Crawford (Oxon Hill, MD) was selected as an honorable mention. The Owls trio combined for over 1,000 points scored on the season withCooke paving the way on a team-high 413 points while starting in all 28 of their games this year. Cooke has thrived from beyond the arc during his two-year tenure at Prince George's and finished the season 10th in the nation for made three-pointers with 72. First-Team selection Jasir Tremble suited up for just the second half of the season but managed to finish with a team-high 16.4 points per game coming off the bench.

Crawford finished with 325 points in his lone season as an Owl after transferring in following a stint at St. Mary's College of Maryland. Crawford provided a spark on both sides of the ball, shooting just under 51% primarily as an inside shooter but was able to connect on the mid-range as well when needed. His most dominating attribute this season has been the ability to protect the rim. Listed at 6'4", he sometimes found himself undersized against opponents but still managed to finish 2nd in the nation in blocks with 79 while playing mostly division I and II programs.

Prince George's finished the season 24-4 before receiving an at-large bid to the NJCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship in Herkimer, New York as the number 8 seed. The Owls will play the number 9 seed, Mohawk Valley in the tournament's first round on Wednesday, March 15th at 12 PM. All games will be live streamed on the NJCAA Network.
