Men’s Basketball Handles Washington Adventist JV At Home

A day after moving from unranked in the preseason poll to the #12 program in NJCAA D3 men's basketball, the Prince George's Community College Owls took care of business against visiting Washington Adventist University JV, handing the Shock a 107-69 loss. The Owls dominated on offense in both halves, scoring 57 in the first before pouring in another 50 in the second to eclipse the century mark in the win.

The Shock kept things close early on but the Owls were able to pull away by the midway mark of the first half with Prince George's in control, 28-14. Dunks from sophomores Reed Rebstock and Elijah Crawford continued to set the tone and brought the crowd in Novak to their feet as the Owls would control the game for the remainder of the evening as they grew their lead to 23 by the break (57-34). Sophomore Jahari Simon led all 11 of the Owls scorers at halftime with 12 on 4 of 6 from the three. Prince George's was shooting 41% (19/46) from the floor heading into the second half, including 40% (8/20) from deep.

Prince George's offensive attack continued in the second where Deonte Cooke came alive from beyond the arc, hitting three straight buckets from deep at one point for the Owls who put away any chance for a Shock comeback. Cooke finished as Prince George's leading scorer with 20 points. The Owls held Washington Adventist to just 31% (23/75) from the floor and 23% (5/22) from deep on the day.

14 different players scored in the Owls dominant win who now move to 2-0 on the season under coach Harris. The Owls have some extended time off before their next contest on the road at Rowan College of South Jersey – Cumberland on Thursday, November 17th.
