No. 10 Men’s Basketball Defeats Delaware Tech, 94-71

The Prince George's Community College men's basketball team improved to 14-2 on the season following a 94-71 victory over visiting Delaware Technical Community College on Thursday evening, January 19th. The win marked the 9th straight victory for the Owls who reentered the National Rankings this past week, coming in at the number 10 spot.

Prince George's battled with Del Tech throughout the first half before taking back the lead (29-28) with 4 minutes to go and never looked back, staying in front the remainder of the game. The Owls managed to go on a 14-2 run to close out the first slate to enter halftime in front, 43-31. Del Tech continued to fight in the second half but were unable to come within striking distance of the Owls lead, who went up by as much as 27 points late in the contest before settling for a 23-point win.

The Owls Elijah Crawford finished with a season-high 26 points while teammates Deonte Cooke (15) and Anthony Perry (12) rounded out the trio finishing in double-digits. Prince George's also got a big push from their bench who combined for 33 points from 8 different shooters.

The Owls have been on an offensive tear during their winning streak as the Owls have outscored their opponents by an average of just under 18 points. Prince George's has finished with 90 points scored in four of their games during the stretch. With their win over Del Tech, the Owls have now eclipsed their season win total (13) from a year ago, with 10 regular season games left on the schedule.

Up next for the Owls is a Region 20 divisional game at home against Pennsylvania Highlands on Saturday, January 21st. Tip-off is scheduled for 4 pm.
