Baseball Travels to Cecil For Final Stretch Before Divisional Showdown

Prince George's Community College baseball heads to Cecil College in North East, MD on Saturday, May 1st to take on the Seahawks. The Owls (6-10, 6-10 MD JUCO) will be taking on Cecil (8-29, 5-19 MD JUCO) for their last matchup against a non-divisional opponent of the season before heading to Westmoreland next weekend, May 8th.

Both the Seahawks and Owls last played the Skipjacks of Chesapeake College. Cecil, however, played them more recently as they travelled to Chesapeake College this past Wednesday, April 28th for a two-bill against the Skipjacks. The Seahawks dropped both games of the doubleheader, including an 11-1 loss in five innings in game one before coming up just short in game two, 2-1.

The Owls enjoyed more success against the Skipjacks when Prince George's hosted Chesapeake College on Sunday, April 25th. Game one resulted in a 7-6 comeback thriller over the Division II powerhouse while game two saw the Owls come up just short in a 10-9 loss with the tying run left on base in scoring position.

The Owls were able to hit their stride last weekend and will look to repeat their success when they face the Seahawks on Saturday. Prince George's will have a full seven days after their doubleheader at Cecil to prepare for Westmoreland the following weekend in a slew of games that will decide who earns a trip to Districts. The Owls will look to capitalize on a reeling Cecil team who has lost each of their last 9 matchups, to gain some momentum heading into the final weekend against the Wolfpack.

Game one of Saturday's duel against the Seahawks is scheduled to begin at noon. Viewers can follow along with the live stream and/or live stats provided by Cecil College.
