Prince George's Wins The 2018 Maryland JUCO Mascot Madness

LARGO, Md. – Prince George's Community College has won the 2018 Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference (MD JUCO) Mascot Madness announced on Sunday at the MD JUCO Men's Basketball Championship Game during halftime.

Prince George's faced the Harford Community College Fighting Owls in the final round and rallied twice during the four-day Twitter poll through @MarylandJUCO to earn the victory. For most of Saturday the poll was tied at 50 percent until Harford took a 51-49 percent lead over Prince George's before midnight and remained with that percentage lead until a surge within the final hours of the poll. An estimated 700 votes came pouring in during Sunday morning that gave Prince George's a 56-44 percent win against Harford when the polls closed shortly after 12 p.m. on Sunday.

Prince George's defeated the College of Southern Maryland in the first round, CCBC Essex in the second round and Montgomery College in the semifinals. Prince George's received 1,468 through the Twitter poll total in the four rounds including an estimated 745 votes in the title bout with Harford.
