Prince George's Set To Host Maryland JUCO Basketball Tournament On February 15-18

MD JUCO TOURNAMENT BRACKET

LARGO, Md. – Prince George's Community College and Novak Field House will be the home of the 2018 Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference (MD JUCO) Women's Basketball Tournament. The women's tournament will be played on Thursday, February 15, Saturday, February 17 and Sunday, February 18. Tickets are $8.

Prince George's will be providing live statistics throughout the tournament and every game will be streamed online. The quarterfinals and semifinals will be on the PGCCOwls YouTube channel before PGCCTV will broadcast the championship game on its YouTube channel.

The quarterfinals get underway on Thursday when third seed Montgomery College (19-5, 8-2 MD JUCO) battles sixth seed Chesapeake College (12-10, 5-5 MD JUCO) at 12 p.m. The Raptors downed the Skipjacks 70-66 in the regular season meeting on Feb. 7.

The second quarterfinal game features second seed Baltimore City Community College (19-5, 8-2 MD JUCO) against No. 7 Hagerstown Community College (12-8, 4-6 MD JUCO) at 2 p.m. The Panthers downed the Hawks 108-42 in the regular season matchup on Jan. 22.

The other half of the bracket starts with the No. 4 seed Cecil College (19-4, 7-3 MD JUCO) taking on No. 5 Frederick Community College (14-10, 6-4 MD JUCO) at 4 p.m. The Seahawks took the regular season meeting 79-74 on Jan. 27.

In the final quarterfinal battle on Friday, top seed Harford Community College (20-2, 11-0 MD JUCO) takes on eighth seed Allegany College of Maryland (9-13, 3-7 MD JUCO) at 6 p.m. The Fighting Owls earned a 118-42 decision in the regular season on Jan. 13.

After men basketball squares off in their quarterfinals on Friday, the women's basketball semifinals will take place on Saturday. The Chesapeake-Montgomery winner will face the Hagerstown-Baltimore City winner in the first semifinals at 12 p.m. The Frederick-Cecil winner will battle the Allegany-Harford winner at 2 p.m. The winners of the semifinals will play for the MD JUCO Women's Basketball Championship on Sunday at 12 p.m.

The quarterfinals get underway on Friday when third seed Frederick Community College (21-3, 12-2 MD JUCO) battles sixth seed Cecil College (10-13, 7-7 MD JUCO) at 12 p.m. The Cougars downed the Seahawks 72-69 on Jan. 27 in the regular season meeting.

The second quarterfinal game features second seed Allegany College of Maryland (23-2, 12-2 MD JUCO) against No. 7 College of Southern Maryland (14-10, 6-8 MD JUCO) at 2 p.m. The Trojans downed the Hawks 91-79 on Jan. 26 in the regular season matchup. The tilt will feature the top two of the top offenses and defenses in the league.

The other half of the bracket starts with the No. 4 seed Baltimore City Community College (17-10, 11-3 MD JUCO) taking on No. 5 Montgomery College (20-6, 10-4 MD JUCO) at 4 p.m. The Raptors took the regular season meeting 105-90 on Dec. 6.

In the final quarterfinal battle on Friday, top seed Harford Community College (18-6, 13-1 MD JUCO) takes on eighth seed and tournament host Prince George's Community College (15-11, 6-8 MD JUCO) at 6 p.m. The Fighting Owls earned a 98-93 overtime decision in the regular season contest on Feb. 7. 

The men's basketball semifinals will take place on Saturday after the women's basketball semifinals. The Cecil-Frederick winner will face the Howard-Allegany winner in the first semifinals at 4 p.m. The Montgomery-Baltimore City winner will battle the Prince George's-Harford winner at 6 p.m. The winners of the semifinals will play for the MD JUCO Men's Basketball Championship on Sunday at 3 p.m.
