Prince George's Asisha Greene Named Women's Basketball NJCAA Division III Third Team All-American

LARGO, Md. – Freshman Asisha Greene (Washington, D.C.), a member of the women's basketball team has been selected as a National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division III third team All-American, announced on Friday.

Greene, a 5-9 guard, nabs her third season honor after being named to the All-Maryland JUCO second team and NJCAA Region XX first team earlier this season. The freshman paced the team with 21.4 points and 8.0 rebounds per game this season after scoring double-figures in every game, including 15 20-point performances and three 30-point games. The nation's capital native notched a career-high 38 points against Roxbury Community College on Dec. 4 and then recorded 31 points in a 75-40 win against Allegany College of Maryland and 31 points in the NJCAA Division III Region XX championship game against Montgomery on Feb. 26. Greene also added nine games in double digits in rebounds to post nine double-doubles on the season. She tallied 27 points and a career-high 17 caroms against Garrett on Feb. 4.

The Owls finished 12-13 on the year and advanced to the title game for NJCAA Division III Region XX for the third time under head coach Tiona Harris.
