Prince George’s Drops Two vs. Allegany

The Prince George's Community College baseball team was back in Largo for their first home games in over three weeks on Tuesday, April 1st, hosting Allegany College of Maryland in a noon doubleheader. The Trojans swept Prince George's on the day, 6-2 in game one and 24-9 in 5 innings in game two.

Daryl Nicholas pitched all seven innings in game one for the Owls and had all 6 runs scored off of a homerun ball from the Trojans. Prince George's finally got on the board in the bottom of the seventh inning with a Maddox German homerun himself before the Owls tacked on a final run due to an error by Allegany's left fielder to make the final 6-2.

Game two saw Allegany again jump out to an early lead with 6 runs through two innings before Prince George's answered with a 5-run bottom of the second inning. Nick Manning and Enzo Angello each had 2 RBI's while Aiden Holmes earned another off a walk. Manning came in to relive starter Sanchez Sands in the third inning and was only able to get one out before being replaced by Christopher Pujols as Allegany added 11 runs in the third inning to go up 17-5. Allegany continued to roll offensively before Manning hit a three RBI double before the fifth inning wrapped up to make the final 24-9.

The Owls doubleheader originally scheduled for Thursday, April 3rd at CCBC Essex has been cancelled so Prince George's will now return to action on Sunday, April 6th for a noon doubleheader at Garrett College in McHenry, MD.
