
Prince George’s Lands Four on NJCAA All-Academic List
Four Prince George's student-athletes were named to a National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-Academic Team, which was announced on Monday, July 17th. All four honorees were first-year students who competed across three different sports for the Owls; Blessing Nwoke, women's outdoor track and field (Second Team), Colin Jackson, baseball (Third Team), Anderson Umana, men's soccer (Third Team), Bilal Odeh, men's soccer (Third Team).
Student-athletes are eligible to earn academic honors by achieving an overall GPA of 3.60 or higher for the 2022-23 academic year. The criteria for the three All-Academic teams are listed below:
- NJCAA All-Academic First Team: 4.00 GPA
- NJCAA All-Academic Second Team: 3.80-3.99 GPA
- NJCAA All-Academic Third Team: 3.60-3.79 GPA

2,702 student-athletes garnered NJCAA All-Academic First Team honors after achieving a 4.0 GPA. 3,347 student-athletes were named to the NJCAA All-Academic Second Team while 4,117 student-athletes received third-team recognition.
