Owls Head To Thaddeus Stevens For Second-Straight Divisional Matchup

The Prince George's Community College men's basketball team will return to action this Saturday, November 6th as they travel to Lancaster, Pennsylvania to take on NJCAA Division III opponent, Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology. The Owls are looking to bounce back after suffering a tough loss to Northampton Community College on the road in their season opener on Tuesday night. The Owls jumped out early against Northampton's Spartans as they were able to build a 15-point lead by halftime but went cold from the floor in the second half, allowing Northampton's offense to mount an 85-70 comeback. Freshman Anthony Perry (Bowie, MD) emerged as the Owls leading scorer with 15 points.

The last time Prince George's faced Thaddeus Stevens' Bulldogs occurred in 2018, coincidentally enough, on November 6th when the Owls picked up a 100-92 home win in Largo, MD to open up their 2018-19 season. The victory earned then-interim head coach William West his first win and helped propel his team to a 22-6 record as his Owls celebrated with a Region 20 Championship. His inaugural team finished the season in the NJCAA Division III District VII Championship, helping West earn the permanent head coaching position.

West will aim to take down the Bulldogs for the second straight time on Saturday afternoon with a renewed perspective as a head coach compared to his debut three years ago. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 pm.
