Prince George's Men's Basketball Plays Final Regular Season Games At Novak Field House This Weekend

THE NEXT MATCH

• Prince George's returns to Novak Field House for its final two regular season home games of the year with Chesapeake College on Friday and Garrett College on Saturday.
• The Owls will honor sophomores David Burriss, Moetaz Ashkar, Dariel Medina, Alex Morales, Deon Savage, Darren Rivers, Jalen Robinson and Dexter Turner during the weekend.
• The Largo program's has a two-game winning streak against both programs.
• Cheaapeake comes into the game 6-11 overall and 5-5 in league play while Garrett is 12-6 overall and 6-4 in the circuit.
• Chesapeake head coach Allen Mitchell is a Prince George's graduate.

THE LAST TILT

• Sixth-ranked Prince George's Community College had its five-game winning streak snapped with a 75-61 loss against Cecil College on Wednesday. The Owls gained national attention this week by entering the NJCAA Division III poll for the first time this season and sophomore Alex Morales was named the NJCAA Division III Player of the Week.
• Jalen Robinson established a new career high in points for the second-straight game with 14 points on Wednesday night. The sophomore shot 5-for-8 from the floor, 1 of 4 from behind the arc and 3 of 3 from the free throw line. Robinson, who scored a then career-best 13 points against CCBC Catonsville on Friday, has posted six 10+-point games this season including five in his last eight tilts. He is averaging 9.1 points per game since joining the starting lineup in the last seven contests.
• Morales added 12 points and nine rebounds, narrowly missing his ninth-straight double-double. The sophomore has scored double figures in all 20 games this season and has 13 double-doubles. Morales leads the team with 19.6 points and 11.4 rebounds per game. He has been recognized twice this season. Along with the NJCAA Division III Men's Basketball Player of the Week, he was selected as the Maryland JUCO Men's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Month of December and will be a contender for the honor in January.
• Tunde Scrivner chipped in 10 points and five rebounds. The freshman has posted double figures in 19 of the 20 games this season and has hauled in at least five boards 10 times this season including four of the last five tilts. Scriver ranks second on the team with 17.5 points per game.
• The squad is 17-3 on the year, including 9-0 against non-conference teams and 8-3 against the circuit. Even with the loss, the Owls remain in the Top-4 of the Maryland JUCO standings with three games to play.

   

THE ROAD AHEAD

• The Owls wrap up the regular season at Allegany (Md.) on February 6.
• Hagerstown will host the Maryland JUCO Tournament this year. Prince George's currently sits in the Top-4 of the standings.
• Prince George's will also host the region tournament in February where it will be the No. 1 seed in the tournament.
