Prince George’s Collects Three Region 20 Player of the Month Awards

Region 20 announced that Prince George's Community College had three student athletes chosen as the Division III Player of the Month for May in their respective sport – baseball's Elias Nurideen, men's track and field Rashid Blackmon, and women's track and field Serena Prince. This marks the second month in a row that Prince George's has had three representatives in a month after Oxswen Cotto (baseball), Javon Watts (men's track and field), and Blessing Nwoke (women's track and field) won the award in April.

Division III Baseball: Elias Nurideen, So., IF, Prince George's
Nurideen recorded at least one hit in all five games for Prince George's during May, finishing with a .421 batting average which included multiple hits in 60% of games. He scored five runs and added five stolen bases against Allegheny County to help capture the Region 20 DIII title.

Men's Outdoor Track & Field: Rashid Blackmon, Prince George's
Blackmon qualified for six events at the NJCAA DIII Outdoor Track & Field Championships, participating in four of them where he finished among the top 13 of runners in each event. Blackmon finished the Championships with new personal bests in each event: 100m (11.12 seconds), 400m hurdles (1:00.28), 4x100m relay (44.97 seconds), and 4x400m relay (3:36.02).

Women's Outdoor Track & Field: Serena Prince, Prince George's
Prince won the triple jump at the NJCAA Championships with a personal record distance of 11.33 meters. Prince's first place jump came after she had already surpassed her previous best of 10.74 meters earlier in the day, which ranked second in the country at the time.
