Largo, MD. - Owls Baseball team woke up from its worst losing stretch of the season to score 11 runs on Wednesday, April 22, to beat Cecil College. This was the most points the team has scored in a single win as well as it was their first win against a top 4 MDJUCO opponent this season.
The Owls earned this win after a poor weekend's performance where they lost games to Garrett, Frederick and Hagerstown Community Colleges.
The Owls, whom are close to the end of their regular season, will use this win to build momentum as they outplayed Cecil and earned the win with a final score of 11-8.
According to Coach Foster, beating a team of this caliber should be a huge confidence booster for his team. He was happy about the energy they showed the entire game and believes with players recovering from injuries they should be able to make a good run at another Region XX DIII title.
