Owls Baseball Signs Four 2014 Grads

The Owls baseball team is pleased to announce the commitment of four 2014 graduates.

Dominic DeBlasie from Sanbornton, NH; Omar Ortiz from Gaithersburg, MD; Kyle Heskett from Derwood, Md; and Kevin Moreno from Miami, Florida are all committed to starting at Prince George's in the fall of 2014.

Dominic DeBlasie was voted to 1st Team All State Catcher in New Hampshire as a HS Junior. Dominic will not only make an instant impact behind the plate for the Owls program he will also add another power bat from the left side to the Owls lineup. Dominic is team captain of his HS Team and academically a strong student carrying a GPA of 3.5.

Omar Ortiz comes to us from a top notch High School program Quince Orchard High School in Montgomery County MD. Omar is a very versatile player that can play multiple positions and can hit from both sides of the plate and will be a great addition to the Owls program. Omar is also a very good student with a HS GPA of 3.0 that has a high Baseball IQ and has a high ceiling on and off the field.

Kyle Heskett comes to us from a solid HS program Col. Zadok Magruder High School in Montgomery County. He plays summer ball for Dig In Baseball, a rising summer program turning out talented ballplayers that are ready to play college ball right away. We see Kyle having a high upside with his 6’ 5” 220lb frame with tremendous power potential that already has gap to gap power with hard contact to all fields and is another strong academic student athlete having just under a 3.0 HS GPA.

Kevin Moreno comes to us from Alonzo and Tracy Mourning High School in Miami-Dade County. Kevin is a very unique player a LH knuckle ball Pitcher and has a delivery that most hitters have never seen. We feel Kevin be very effective in the MD JUCO Conference and  are very pleased to be adding a quality arm to our 2015 pitching staff.
