Marcano a 3rd Team All-American

Abdiel Marcano and the rest of the Prince George's Community College men’s baseball team had a lot to celebrate from this past season after making it all the way to the College World Series that was held in Tyler, Texas. They earned their spot after beating Westmoreland in the region finals in route to becoming the Region XX tournament champions.

The sophomore Marcano was named to the 2014 All-American 3rd team and was one of the outstanding players to watch all season. He provided the team with consistent play that led them in most of the statistical categories. “Special” that’s the word used by assistant coach, Brandon Owens, to describe Marcano. “I believe that he can make it to the majors, as he possesses all the tools on and off the field”.

Marcano was the 2014 NJCAA ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Winner was also ranked among the highest in the region with 35 games played, 36 runs and a stunning 29 stolen bases. Marcano is the 5th player in school history to be named to the baseball All-American team and the school’s second in successive seasons since their last in 2005.
