Owl Baseball Splits with Towson Baseball

The Prince George's Community College baseball team took on the Towson University Club team on Saturday, September 29.

Game 1 the team came out flat and gave away the game 7-5. Giving up 6 unearned runs and making a few base running errors were costly, but on the bright side the team came out energized for Game 2.

The Owls jumped out to a 7-1 lead after the 1st inning and never looked back on our way to a 17-5 victory. They were able to pound out over 20 hits and made some stellar defensive plays. Winning pitcher, Jon Powell, put on a notable performance, while offensively sophomores Brandon Johnson and Alonzo Ouzts were unstoppable and on base all day. The team has bought in to the small ball philosophy and it has really paid off with 6 bunt base hits and sacrificing runners into scoring position so the next guy can knock them in. The unselfish, team first play has made Coach Foster proud of his guys!!!!!
