PGCC Alumni Tyler Logan Named to the NABC Honors Court

Tyler Logan was named to the 2013-14 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court on Monday August 4, 2014. This award recognizes men’s collegiate basketball students-athletes who have excelled in academics during the past school year.

In order to be eligible for the NABC Honors Court, the student-athlete must academically be a junior or senior and a varsity player, have a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2013-14 academic year and must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution. In addition, the student-athletes coach must be an active member of the NABC.

Logan was one of three athletes from the Moccasins basketball team to be honored with this award but he was the only player to record a perfect 4.00 cumulative GPA majoring in Human Movement and Performance.

Logan represented Owls basketball as a sophomore in the 2012-13 season after a short freshman stint with Frostburg State University. He excelled more under the tutorship of Coach Xavier Joyner and staff and later earned his scholarship to attend Florida Southern University.

During his time with the Owls, he helped lead the team to an 18-11 overall record. He was the team’s leading scorer averaging 16.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 2.0 steals per game. He was an Honorable Mention Maryland JUCO All-Conference honoree and he was selected to the Region XX Second-Team and Region XX All-Tournament Team.
