Owls Head to CCBC Catonsville to Take on Cardinals

The Prince George's Community College men's soccer team will travel to Division II Maryland JUCO opponent CCBC Catonsville tomorrow, September 9th to take on the Cardinals at 5 pm. The Cardinals are fresh off of a 3-0 win on Tuesday, September 7th over fellow MD JUCO opponent, College of Southern Maryland.

Meanwhile, Prince George's is one week removed from a 3-1 loss at home against Hagerstown Community College in the Owls 2021 season opener on September 2nd. The Owls were able to jump out to a quick 1-0 lead just one minute into the contest before surrendering the lead moments later and were unable to get much going offensively the remainder of the game.

Prince George's will look to sophomore forward Miguel Rosales (Fairmont Heights, MD) who is one of two returners from the Owls 2019 squad, to get things moving offensively against the Cardinals. Rosales led Prince George's with six shots in the Owls lone outing this year, four of which were on goal. Defensively, the Owls will need to do a better job of helping freshman goalkeeper Axel Vargas (Temple Hills, MD). Vargas, who faced 23 total shots against Hagerstown last week, should be well-rested to face a Cardinals offense that has averaged over 16 shots per game across their first three matches.

The last time the Owls faced the Cardinals was early in the 2019 season when two periods of extra time wasn't enough to determine a winner as the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
