Women’s Basketball Receives Region XX, MD-JUCO Honors

Following Prince George's women's basketball 2019-20 season which resulted in a NJCAA Division III Region XX title, several players rightfully earned All-Region XX Honors as well as one earning a spot on the All-MD JUCO Second Team.

Sophomore Tatiana Garvin as well as freshmen Kori People and Trinity Workman were all named to the All-Region XX Division III First-Team while freshman DaJine'e Gatling made Honorable Mention. Prince George's represented half of the All-Region roster with four total players being honored.

Trinity Workman was also named to the 2019-20 All-MD JUCO Second Team.

All four players receiving honors recorded over 10 points per game with Workman leading the way for the Owls as she averaged 17.5/game. People was second on the team with 16.8 and Garvin was just behind as she recorded 16.3/game as well as 11 rebounds/game to finish the year averaging a double-double. Despite appearing in only eight contests on the year due to injury, Gatling was able to finish the year with a respectable 13.4 points per game.

Prince George's relied heavily on Garvin throughout the year. As the lone sophomore on the team, she provided a vital leadership role for a young Owls team who just narrowly missed out on a trip to the National Championship.
