Tunde Scrivner Named NJCAA Division III Player of the Week

Prince George’s standout guard Tunde Scrivner has been named NJCAA’s Division III Men’s Basketball Player of The Week for week nine (January 13-19). Scrivner, a sophomore from Washington, D.C. led the Owls to a perfect 2-0 record during the stretch in which he recorded two consecutive triple-doubles.

Scrivner first put together a 19 point, 10 rebound, and 10 steal performance against Butler County Community College on the road on Saturday, January 18th as part of a 120-65 Owls win. Less than 24 hours later, Scrivner posted a ridiculous 31 point, 13 assist, and 10 rebound stat line in another Owls victory, this time a 122-85 win over Westmoreland Community College. During the two game tear, Scrivner averaged 25 points per game to go along with 11.5 assists per game. Perhaps what was most impressive was his 13 assist outing versus Westmoreland in which all nine of his teammates recorded a bucket in the win, including five other Owls who finished in double-digit scoring as well.

Scrivner has been paramount in leading the Owls to a 13-5 record as January comes to a close, including a perfect 6-0 in NJCAA Division III Region 20 play. Scrivner will look to continue his stellar sophomore campaign as the 2019-2020 regular season comes to an end and heads into postseason play.
