Owls Beat #3 Ranked Camden County

Largo, MD. - In their third game in three days the Prince George's Community College Owls men's soccer team was able to take down #3 ranked Camden County College in double overtime by a final score of 2-1.

Camden entered this contest as the #3 team in the country but it was the Owls men who were able to show their dominance in the first twenty minutes of the game. Coupled with good possession and a strong defensive presence, the Owls Mbah Ngeh put his team in the lead in the 19th minute when he volleyed in the first goal of the game off a corner kick from Angelo Ridore.

However, Camden was able to equalize the game in the 45 minute off a long ball that caught the Owls defense off guard. Freshman Julio Herrera was credited with the goal that was almost the last kick of the first half.

The second half saw both teams mounting different attacks but both goal keepers seemed to be up to the task and swopped saves to keep their teams in the game. This made for an intense game going down the stretch and into overtime.

In the second overtime, the Owls snatched the win with a low strike from Urich Ndip. This was the freshman's first goal of the season and his strike gave the Owls the sudden death overtime win. The Owls led the game in shots, corner kicks and goalkeeper Richard Lewis recorded 5 saves overall in the win.
