Prince George’s Welcome RCSJ – Gloucester as Lady Owls Enter National Rankings

The Prince George's Community College women's basketball team will play host to Rowan College of South Jersey – Gloucester on Tuesday night, November 16th at 6:30 pm. Gloucester's Roadrunners are visiting from Region 19 in their second consecutive road game while the Owls are in the midst of a four-game home streak.

Both enter as Division III programs with a perfect 2-0 record receiving national recognition in this week's latest NJCAA DIII Women's Basketball Rankings. The Roadrunners are currently receiving votes while the Owls jumped into the top 15, landing at number 13 in their first appearance in the rankings under first year head coach Devin May. Both squads are beating their opponents by an average of 12 points and look poised for a divisional showdown early in the season.

The Owls have been led by reigning NJCAA Division III Women's Basketball Player of the Week, Janiah Williams (Washington DC/ Eastern Senior). Williams has been a force to be reckoned with on both sides of the ball as she finds her way into the paint on the attack but is quick enough to recover and assert her presence on the defensive side of the ball as well – averaging 11 rebounds/game to go along with an absurd 6.5 blocks/game.

The Owls will look to continue to impress in coach May's short career thus far on Tuesday afternoon, pitting two of the nation's top teams against one another for what should be a tightly contested matchup. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:30 pm.

Tickets must be purchased to attend a Prince George's Community College basketball game inside Novak Field House. Prince George's students, staff, and faculty are free with proof of a current college ID.
